Newzealnd is in the opponent of Australia in the ICC championship trophy
The different variations of the Pakistani bowlers were not sufficient to stop the spirited New Zealand team. With the dazzling victory over Pakistan, New Zealand has just entered into their 2nd ever Champions Trophy final.
After winning the toss, Younus Khan chose to bat first. With regular wickets falling, the Pakistani side scored a reasonable 233 for 9 wickets. New Zealand’s win-loss ratio in the Champions Trophy matches is the second best, they are left behind of Australia. Moreover, they have proven the accuracy of the ratio again by beating Pakistan.
On a batting-friendly wicket, Pakistan got a smooth start with just one wicket down for 46 runs in their 10th over. Imran Nazir, the replacement of Misbah-ul-Haq, had opened the Pakistani innings with Kamran Akmal.
Younis Khan continued his terrible form in this game also. At one point, Pakistani innings looked like in trouble at 86/4, just when the young, promising batsman Umer Akmal came into the scene. He joined another senior Mohammad Yousuf. The two have rescued the Pakistani innings.
New Zealand openers looked optimistic at the beginning of their innings. But, much like their oppositions, they failed to build any big partnership. At 126/4, when Ross Taylor went out, the situation seemed lucky for the Pakistan side.
Daniel Vettori promoted himself up in the order and built the necessary partnership with Elliott. Vettori knocked 41 off just 42 balls and named as the Man of the Match.
